Pebbledash is a different job from smooth render. The stones create a large total surface area. Standard rollers cannot reach into the crevices between pebbles.

We use long-pile masonry rollers supplemented with brush application. For larger elevations, professional airless spray equipment achieves consistent coverage.

Pebbledash traps organic matter in the gaps between stones. North and east-facing walls develop heavy algae and moss.

We pressure wash the entire surface to remove biological growth and surface dirt. Paint applied over biological growth fails quickly. The preparation stage is what gives the finished coat its lifespan.

On older properties, individual pebbles detach over time and leave bare patches. These need filling and re-embedding before any paint goes on.

We inspect the surface during the assessment and include minor repairs in the scope. More extensive repairs are quoted separately.

Pebbledash colour changes are one of the most dramatic exterior transformations available to Nottingham homeowners. A tired grey or beige pebbledash house repainted in a rich heritage green, slate blue, or warm off-white looks completely different.

The most common configuration on Nottingham’s interwar housing has pebbledash on the upper storey. Painting the upper section requires working from ladders or a scaffold tower.
